Stoneroad
Build a road of stones across the board
Stoneroad is a digital implementation of Tak, the two-player abstract strategy game. You take turns placing stones on a board, and the first person to build a connected road of their own stones from one side to the other wins.
Where it came from
Tak started out fictional. It appears in Patrick Rothfuss’s Kingkiller Chronicle novels as a game the characters play, described in feel but never given real rules. Game designer James Ernest built an actual playable game to match, and released the rules publicly in 2015 with Rothfuss’s blessing. Stoneroad is our take on it.
If you want the background: Tak on Wikipedia, and Crab Fragment Labs, who publish it.
Where it’s at
Still building it. It’s a Godot app. There’ll be a free version anyone can use, plus a paid tier if you want more out of it.

Stoneroad is an independent implementation. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by Crab Fragment Labs, Cheapass Games, or Patrick Rothfuss.
